Money Musing

Let me start by saying that the idea of having 50,000$ makes me really giddy. There’s something about that specific number that just makes me happy thinking about it. However what I want to say is this: I see money being wasted on things that will lose value in a heartbeat, and that sincerely hurts my heart.

Imali, Money, L’argent, Dinero…The amount of money spent on useless jewellery, drugs, cars, idiotic stuff etc, makes me shake my head sometimes. When I think about what I would do with even just half of the money I see wasted, I just see my future so clearly.

I know how to use money (sort of). I use it for experiences (mostly) and not only for material things. I like material things of course, but not at the expense of my personal development. I see how I’ll use money to get better physically, mentally and emotionally.

That’s what money does, it gives you a certain carefree confidence. I see some people do/say things I wouldn’t normally do, but I think it’s because money gives them that confidence to be who they truly are, and a broke person simply cannot understand that.

I would travel compulsively, I would take crossfit classes to get in shape, then MMA / self defence classes because everybody needs that. I’d learn how to dance and cook. I’d learn Spanish & Italian. Money makes you a better person, it gives you multiple options to grow and become the best you can be. It’s almost like a superhero power you can opt to use at any moment.

When I think about it in my mind, it’s so clear, but I can’t quite find the words to explain it to my satisfaction. All I want to say is this: I want to be able to have enough money to buy what I want, and still have enough to do what I want.

You can tell that having money inspires the hell out of people. Look at Pink Floyd’s “Money” or DRAM’s “Cash Machine”. Do you hear how joyful they sound? If money can make someone that happy, then I want to feel some of that happiness too. Oh and there’s this gem from The Wolf of Wall Street, one of the best films of the 2010’s, that should convince you.

Of course the topic of money is often taboo. People don’t like to discuss money, and that’s fine, you don’t have to. But you can let it inspire you, and accept the fact that it makes you feel great. It’s okay to want it, to muse on it, I know I do. The trick is to not let it define you. The only issue is that to make money, apparently you have to focus all your attention on it and forget everything else, so it ends up defining you anyways. There is a way to chase money and knowledge at the same time though, I just haven’t figured it out yet.
